The Casting Crowns spring tour is off and running!
During their fall tour a number of our Covenant Eyes booth volunteers sent comments about the concert. One from a woman in Virginia:
“The concert was not a concert—it was a worship experience. From the first song until the end, we were ushered into the throne room of God and He was lifted up! All the focus was on Him and not on man. Thank you to all the bands and musicians—God is able to do much through each of you, because you live out the Word of God in your ministries!”
She also wrote about some of the effects of pornography on her own family:
“I have experienced the pain and death that comes from internet pornography personally. My ex-husband was addicted to pornography. It affected every area of his life and my family’s. He refused to give it up and it controls him. I am raising a teenage boy and the temptations bombard him on a daily basis. I am in agreement that as parents we have to guard our eyes and hearts and create a hedge of prayer around our children.”
Her comment about something Mark Hall said was interesting:
“Mark Hall shared the Word from Psalms 1:1—that the man’s downward progression (the opposite of the blessed man) in this Psalm was a ‘slow fade’ and the steps that lead to it were all there in those verses. First – He WALKS in the counsel of the wicked, then STANDS in the way of the sinners and finally, he SITS in the chair of the mockers. He’s moving, then idle and finally he sits.”
How many of our members can testify to this truth? When they first viewed pornography they didn’t say that they wanted to become addicts. They didn’t say that they wanted their addictions to threaten their marriages or their children. No. The downward spiral of pornography is a slow fade.
