I would share it with my fellow brothers and teach them the dangers of this terrible epidemic!
I will give these away at our Diocesan Youth Rally where I will have a booth on God’s Plan for Love and Marriage
We have run a men’s only sexual integrity group and another support group for spouses for about 6 yrs. we now see the need to take a new step by teaching the parents how to be proactive in the lives of their children and how to respond to their children when they encounter sexual imagery and sexual sin. We are in the early phase of planning a reoccurring parent worshops as well as planning a group or resources for students (pre-teen – HS) who would not be age appropriate for our men’s group but who still need hope and healing from their sexual sin and brokenness.
Therefore we would use the resources to host a parenting class that would be open to our members as well as to our community. Also I have begun building a local network of Pastors, Christian counsellor and Sexual integrity group leaders – I am developing our parenting workshop with this group and pray the workshops will demonstrate unity in the body of Christ and be used by God to bring His message of the Gospel to bear on our fallen sexuality through inter-denominational collaboration.
I would share these with my church and home school group. I want to help, us as christians and home schoolers, to open our eyes to the very real threat and temptations that are out there. To open our eyes and hearts, to at times, even contributing (by turning a blind eye to what’s on tv, computers, dressing inappropriately, etc) to the temptations and dangers that are facing our children and families more and more everyday. We need to be honest and vulnerable-real with each other. Confessing our struggles and holding one another up.
As director of a college Newman Center, I work with men and women who struggle for purity. I understand that the future is at stake. Their future vocation and their personal freedom to pursue excellence in marriage, priesthood, or consecrated religious life will flounder if not founded upon chastity. These bundles would be a great asset to our students in their efforts.
Most of all these gifts would serve as an encouragement. The grip of sin and lust is strong and the porn culture is pervasive. Much help is given just by knowing “I’m not crazy. Other people see this as a problem. Other people have grown in purity. I can do it.”
As a sexual addict in recovery, I would definitely use these materials to educate myself more and supplement the therapy and education I receive from my counselor and the support I receive from my accountability partners. I would also share the bundles and my story with others I know are fighting sexual sin to let them know that they are not alone and that recovery is possible.
I work for a non-profit organization dedicated to male and female identity formation and chastity formation for teens, young adults, and families. Our work puts us in contact with a lot of people who are struggling with chastity, specifically with addictions to pornography. I’m personally in contact currently with many young men who struggle with addictions to pornography, and it would be great to offer more resources to them to help them to break free of the stuff. I’d love to be able to give them to many of the families that we are in contact with, and specifically with the 17 and 18 year old men I’m currently working with.
I would use a set for personal use, then I would give a set to my confirmation teacher . And if they were in a Spanish edition I would give it to my groups Angeles De Dios and Lazos DeAmor NY , so that it could be taught to the Latin community. And I know a brazilian group that I would give it to , but that would have to be in portugueses.
I’ll give half to the St. John Neumann shrine for the table outside their confessionals, because they see many men fighting addiction to porn. The other half will go to my home parish, where I don’t know of anyone with the problem — because silence doesn’t imply freedom.
I’d share this package with every father I know that is close to me. Being currently in a situation where I am on the path to divorce largely because of my struggles with porn, I fully recognize now the destructive power of it. I wouldn’t wish this upon anyone. My children will definitely be taught about the evils of porn and I will share to everyone who will listen!!!
