A Summit to End Sexual Exploitation

Last Updated: March 5, 2024

The National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) works tirelessly so we might realize, “a world where the pornified vision of reality—with its utilitarian and insatiable consumption of human beings for selfish sexual pleasure, its raw, brutal, debasing, violent and hate-filled themes—becomes unacceptable to all people with concern and respect for the dignity and well-being and humanity.”

From September 29 to October 1, 2016, NCOSE will hold the third annual Coalition to End Sexual Exploitation Summit in Houston, TX. An impressive list of experts, advocates, and visionaries populate the list of speakers who will equip attendees with the motivation and information needed to continue to fight for the dignity and freedom of all people trapped in trafficking.

Covenant Eyes, The Leadership Institute, and Fight the New Drug are co-sponsoring this important event.

If you are unfamiliar with NCOSE, they were founded in 1962 under the name Morality in Media (MIM) as an interfaith group of clergy in New York City after grade school children were caught with hardcore pornography. Father Morton A. Hill formed the group and served as its president until his death in 1985.

MIM changed its name to the National Center on Sexual Exploitation early in 2015 to better describe the organization’s scope and mission, which is to expose the seamless connection between all forms of sexual exploitation. Led by President and CEO Patrick A. Trueman, NCOSE is the leading national organization opposing pornography by highlighting the links to sex trafficking, violence against women, child abuse, addiction, and more.

Some of its more recent notable achievements include:

It was former American diplomat Richard Holbrooke who said, “Ending this crime so monstrous [human trafficking] is not a political issue; it is an American imperative, and a human responsibility. This is why there are still modern-day abolitionists. And this is why the rest of us should join them.” Covenant Eyes is honored to join NCOSE as a modern-day abolitionist. By working together, we can shine light in dark places and bring freedom to the enslaved.

Statistics show that as many as 64% of church-going men of all ages and 34% of church-going women ages 18-30 look at porn regularly.1 Unfortunately, accountability is largely absent from the church today. Most Christians are not accountable to their churches or anyone in them. According to Barna, only 5% of…
